The Futurum Ostrava Shopping Centre and OC Haná Have a New Owner

Peter Wojtusiak, Associate Director Investment Properties CBRE
We’re delighted that CBRE were able to successfully mediate the sale of the OC Haná and Futurum Ostrava shopping centres. The acquisition of these two centres is very advantageous for Star Capital Investments, especially during the current market conditions when sales and the number of consumers visiting regional shopping centres is growing.

Star Capital Investments has become the new owner of Futurum Ostrava and OC Haná. CBRE, the world leader in commercial real estate services, participated in these transactions, representing the foreign sellers. CBRE also manages the building and leasing activities for Futurum Ostrava.

The 30,000 m2 Futurum Ostrava Shopping Centre is the first centre of this size in Ostrava, and has been offering its services to its clients since May 2000. CBRE brokered the sale of the building on the basis of the seller’s requirements and represented both the previous co-owners, Pradera, and Bainbridge during the transaction. The buyer, Star Capital Investments, acquired the shares of the two previous owners simultaneously, thus consolidating the asset, which is a benefit to the further development of the centre. CBRE will also work with the new owner to manage the shopping centre and is the exclusive leasing agent.

The Haná Shopping Centre in Olomouc has 9,400 m2 of retail space and was opened in 2002 and was recently expanded with a retail park component in 2016. The shopping centre includes 61 units and 490 parking spaces. CBRE secured the sale of the building and represented Pradera. The buyer is Star Capital Investments.

Josef Malíř, Managing Director of Star Capital Investments, said:

“Futurum Ostrava and OC Haná are traditional shopping centres that undisputedly fit into the Ostrava and Olomouc retail markets. We are looking forward to the future and improving the real estate to further increase the comfort of shopping and range of services for visitors to the centres.”

In addition to the Tesco hypermarket and the Cinestar multi-cinema, Futurum Ostrava also features fashion, toys, sports, perfumes, jewellery and footwear, as well as electronics, mobile phones and giftware. Hana Shopping Centre also covers a wide range of individual segments, with the main tenants being Takko, Sportisimo, Sparkys, Bata and A3 Sport.
